HISA's motto "learning beyond
borders" encompasses not only the idea of studying abroad,
but also of allowing you the opportunity to discover and develop
your individual talents free of the normal pressures. Learning
and artistic expression often demand a range of experience beyond
routine and predictable structure. The Semester/Year Abroad
Program encourages its participants to work at their own pace
and express their ideas and opinions in an open and unselfconscious
way.
A Full Semester Student may design a program tailored to his/her
specific artistic or academic ambitions. You may concentrate
in either a single discipline or a schedule across the curriculum.
In every case, you will be able to work in small groups and
often individually with teachers and artists who are able to
devote their full attention to your creative and intellectual
development. (Click to see our core and
contributing faculty)
Field trips and Excursions are an important part of HISA’s vision of integrating academic and experiential learning, and as a permanent feature of our program, all transportation, accommodations, and site fees are included! Just some of the marvellous places you will explore include, in Greece: Delos, the sacred island of Apollo; Naxos, home to the god Dionysos; Antiparos, with its famous stalactite cave; Myconos, with its windmills and jet-set night life, and Santorini, the spectacular volcanic island, rich in Minoan history and culture. And on the 10 day Mid-Term Excursion to Paris and Prague, an array of museums and sites, galleries and events. • See Visit our world, Paris and Prague for details! |
